Javier ConesaJavier Conesa

I am Javier Conesa, born 66 years ago, in a land where it's hard to hide the beauty and magic of its landscapes. The sun there magnifies the intensity of the colors and brings out new ones, with varied tones and shades. Its geographical location is purely tropical, which also makes it stable in terms of climate and temperature throughout the year. My parents adored Venezuela, the land I speak of, which welcomed them. Due to my father's job, a Sales Representative for a well-known laboratory, we had to move to several cities, including Maracaibo, Caracas, Ciudad Bolívar, Valencia. It was a time when the beauty of the flora and fauna touched the edges of the big cities. We are four siblings, three boys and a girl; I mention this because the three of us have been drawn to painting like iron to a magnet from a very young age. Around 1962, my father met a prominent Basque artistic figure, also a Spanish immigrant, I refer to Celedonio Otaño Académico, a lover of the El Ávila hill and its colors, a staunch Impressionist and an excellent Caricaturist, who collaborated with some newspapers and magazines of the time. Otaño offered to support my older brother, teaching him painting in view of his marked interest in art; I, like a hidden mouse, observed the techniques, strokes, and colors that he taught in his class. A connection began to emerge between the palette, the brushes, and the intense smell of the solvents and me. From that day on, I became a fan and subject of painting. As the years went by, I practiced working with pastel and charcoal, then started with different shades of pencils. Later with oil, landscapes, portraits, pets. The latter has been my real challenge, and what has given me the most satisfaction, as I love my pets and can capture them on canvas. At this moment, I am dedicated to making pet portraits to order; and also any theme that the client needs. I send my finished work to any part of the world.
